AirCheck 020910

Written by jeremy on Tuesday, 9 of February , 2010 at 10:42 am

Other than the hour and a quarter’s worth of new European material, this edition of AirCheck is playtime, a chance to go back and hit some of the things that have only been played on one show and deserve more, and some that have been there so long they’ve been forgotten.

Here are some of the artists I looked up for whatever reason:

Caro Emerald – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Caroline van der Leeuw (born 26 April 1981 in Amsterdam), better known by her stagename Caro Emerald, is a Dutch jazz singer. She debuted on 6 July 2009 with her single “Back It Up”. In week 32, 3FM Radio declared “Back It Up” a 3FM Megahit.

The band’s music is a collaboration between various musicians, Albarn being the only permanent musical contributor.

The Big Pink – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Falco (musician) – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

AirCheck 011210

Written by jeremy on Monday, 11 of January , 2010 at 5:45 pm

After all the time devoted to the year-end EuroChart reviews, I am so ready for some new music.  It’s been three weeks since I sought out new tunes, so there’s a lot of new music.  I doubt I’ll play anything old unless it was preempted by the season.  (Read more…)

AirCheck 121509

This week’s AirCheck is all Europe again.

As another year draws to a close, artists all over Europe have released their latest, hopefully CD-sales-inspiring, singles. With all of our time devoted to getting ready to go live on the FM dial, and being out of our studio while it’s remodeled, the past couple weeks things have mounted up, so there’s a ton of new music. As usual this is my worksheet, so not everything will be covered… just artists I needed to remember. The nice part of it is that WordPress has pretty good search capabilities, so as I grab these snippets, more and more of the international artists will be searchable here.

AirCheck 120101 (Worksheet)

Written by jeremy on Tuesday, 1 of December , 2009 at 2:15 pm

OK, I’ll be honest here… this is more for me than you.  Every week when I prep AirCheck, my Tuesday night world hits show, I go through so many charts and wikis that I often can’t remember where I found info about an artist, or to whom it related.  Creeping CRS.  ;)   So i’m going to try it this way, using the OzBlog and ScribeFire to pull together the info behind my AirCheck show. We’ll see how it works.

AirCheck with Jeremy

Written by jeremy on Friday, 27 of November , 2009 at 11:26 pm

This blog is more a workspace than anything else, but if you follow the show, it should be pretty interesting. Every week when I research the show, I check multiple sources to find out about the international artists we play. I can be a bit forgetful (creeping CRS) so I often do it more than once. Now, I’ll just ScribeFire it onto this blog, which will both make it easier on my poor aching mind and provide the resources and research to the web-wide world.

So this will be clips about artists, pieces of charts, music resources, stuff like that. Enjoy it if you can. ;)

AirCheck

AirCheck is Ozcat’s international pop hits program, checking out what’s on the air elsewhere in the world. If you like pop music, AirCheck will open your ears to a world of current international hits most radio in this country ignores because of language differences.
