After all the time devoted to the year-end EuroChart reviews, I am so ready for some new music.  It’s been three weeks since I sought out new tunes, so there’s a lot of new music.  I doubt I’ll play anything old unless it was preempted by the season.  Here’s my worksheet for the show.  Acts I looked up anyway, so I might as well take the extra few seconds more to ScribeFire it.

Within Temptation – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Within Temptation is a Dutch rock/metal band. The band was founded in 1996 by vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt.[2] Their music is described as symphonic metal,[3] gothic metal[4] ,[3][5][6] although in an interview, Den Adel said they fell into a symphonic rock genre with various influences,[7] and in a later interview with 3VOOR12, Sharon stated that “we consider ourselves more a symphonic rock band … we are in my opinion no gothic band”.

Hadouken! – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hadouken! are a dance-punk band from London. They originally formed in Leeds, West Yorkshire after James Smith and Daniel “Pilau” Rice met at Leeds University. It was here they began their own record label, Surface Noise Records.[1] After forming the label, Smith began writing and demoing the first Hadouken! tracks. In February 2007, Hadouken! self-released a two song limited edition vinyl, a double-a side of “That Boy That Girl” and “Tuning In.” The former gained popularity after the video made it to number one in MTV Two’s NME Chart.[2]

After releasing their 12-track EP mixtape, Not Here to Please You on November 12, 2007, the band returned to the studio to complete their debut album, Music for an Accelerated Culture. The album featured nine new songs as well as previous singles “Liquid Lives” and “That Boy That Girl.”

He was born into a musical family and grew up on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands.[1] His song “Replay” reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2009.[2] In December 2009 “Replay” peaked at #1 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart.[2] It also reached #1 on the UK Singles Chart on January 10, 2010.
