Other than the hour and a quarter’s worth of new European material, this edition of AirCheck is playtime, a chance to go back and hit some of the things that have only been played on one show and deserve more, and some that have been there so long they’ve been forgotten.

Here are some of the artists I looked up for whatever reason:

Caroline van der Leeuw (born 26 April 1981 in Amsterdam), better known by her stagename Caro Emerald, is a Dutch jazz singer. She debuted on 6 July 2009 with her single “Back It Up”. In week 32, 3FM Radio declared “Back It Up” a 3FM Megahit.

Gorillaz are an English virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn of Britpop band Blur, and Jamie Hewlett, co-creator of the comic book Tank Girl. With “Rock Me Amadeus” he is the first and so far only artist to score a #1 Hit in the U.S. with a German language song. His albums and singles have sold about 60 million copies worldwide.
